Cotten, Joseph (1905)

Actor. Cotten came to films in Citizen Lane after a success?ful career on the New York stage and in radio. Often typecast as a well-meaning, sophisticated loser, once in a while, as in Duel in the Sun, he played a part of more weight, though even then he didn't get the girl. More at home in thrillers (The Third Man, Shadow of a Doubt) than in the West?ern.
