De Carlo, Yvonne (1922)

A performer more closely identified with Arabian Nights 'Easterns',  she  also  graced  a  good  many Westerns, mainly in the co-feature bracket, from the late 40s to the 60s. Her projection of elaborately  made-up  glamour,  seen  to particular effect in Border River, was comp?lemented   when   occasion   demanded   by down-to-earth practicality (for example in Shotgun) and by an undercurrent of humour. The latter came to the fore when she grad?uated   to  the   semi-character  role  of John Wayne's housekeeper in McLintock!
