Acosta, Rodolfo (1920-74)
Actor. Acosta began in Mexican films, working several times with the distinguished director Emilio Fernandez. Then he obtained a part in John Ford's The Fugitive when Ford was shooting in Mexico, and inevitably hit the trail tor Hollywood. Here his lot was usually to play heavies in Western or adventure movies, but he achieved one lead, as an honest editor embroiled with racketeers in The Tijuana Story, and usually made his small parts tell. Occasionally Acosta played Indians, the fearsome Silva in Hondo being a notable example
