One of the actresses most identified with the Western during the 50s,? when?? she? was? a? contract? player? at Universal, she bore some resemblance to Joanne Dru, not only in looks but in com?bining an air of? practicality with hints of hauteur. Much at home in both wagon train and saloon, she was more usually seen in domestically-inclined roles. But if given the chance, as when playing the object of Robert Ryan's desire in Horizons West, she could command a provocative sensuality.
