?Actor. A very tough man indeed, with the physique to match his footballing past, Don Barry made his first Western mark? in?? 1939,? supporting John Wayne and the Mesquiteers, and a year later played the lead in the Red Ryder serial, acquiring for himself the sobriquet of 'Red' Barry. Then came series Westerns for Republic, smaller parts in the 50s, and a come-back in A. C. Lyles Westerns for veterans. Not all of this was routine. He played Jesse James twice and Billy the Kid once, had a dual role in Tuo-Qun Sheriff as good guy and bad, and even enlisted Presi?dent McKinley's aid to sort out the Arizona Terrors,
