Bernstein, Elmer (1922)

 One of the most popular composers to come out of the 50s, Bernstein's scores for action movies created a unique and memorable sound. His start with Westerns was nothing spectacular but in 1959 his music for the television series Riverboat was the first signs of stirring things to come. The following year he was to compose the music for one of the classic Westerns, The Magnificent Seven. Following the success of the film Bernstein became one of the most prolific composers of the 60s and 70s.
