Buchanan, Edgar?(1903-79)
?Actor. Another of the great Western old-timers, Edgar Buchanan spent thirty odd years in movies and made around 100 films, almost half of them Westerns. He could be benign and humorous, with his wheezy laugh and the worn features wrinkling with fun, or just slightly crooked; but even when his judge or sheriff carried a small taint of corruption, there was always a remnant of sympathy for the character. That kind of role was made for Buchanan or Brennan: when producers couldn't get one, they went for the other.
